Lavender Farm Technical Visit (Narrandera) – view and discuss current plantings and farming techniques.

Depart Lavender Farm. Travel to Leeton.

Leeton Visitors Centre – Meet with Local Agricultural Guide. Brief introduction to Leeton and the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. Includes short Japanese language video.

Rice Farm Technical Visit - view preparations for sowing OR recently sown rice crop, irrigation system and farm machinery, including discussions with farmer.

Depart Farm. Travel via Rice Receival and Storage Complex (external viewing only).

4:00 pm
Activity: Arrive at Leeton
Arrive Leeton Visitors Information Centre. Meet with Farmstay Families. Transfer to Farmstay accommodation with families.

Meet at Leeton Visitors Information Centre. Depart Visitors Centre with Local Agricultural Guide

Activity: Irrigation Visit
Murrumbidgee Irrigation Ltd – presentation on the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Project, including discussion on salinity and land protection.

10:30 am
Activity: Technical Visit
Yanco Agricultural Institute Technical Visit - presentation on role of NSW Agriculture in rice research, farmer training and advisory services.  Includes inspection of National Vegetable Industry Centre, and discussion on vegetable farming practices and  research by the NSW Department of Primary Industries. Refreshments included.

Licensed Restaurant, Leeton.

Activity: Sun Rice Centre Visit
Leeton Sun Rice Centre Visit – presentation on the Australian rice industry, including Japanese language video, rice tastings and discussion on export to Japan.

Activity: High School Visit
Yanco Agricultural High School Visit – view/discuss education and agriculture facilities.

4:30 pm
Activity: Technical Visit
Fruit Orchard Technical Visit - view current citrus and other fruit plantings, including discussions with farmer.

Licensed Restaurant, Leeton including coach transfers ex accommodation

DAY 3 LEETON - WAGGA - SYDNEY

Depart Leeton and travel to Wagga.
