AFT Agricultural Tourism (a division of Australian Farm Tourism) is a leading agritourism consolidator. The Australian Farmhost Program for Groups (available for overseas groups only) Agriculture Study tours, special interest agriculture tours programs, education and student programs for inbound groups.

Australian Farm Tourism has specialised in inbound agricultural tourism for over 30 years. We work exclusively with Australian Inbound Tour Operators and overseas wholesalers in the Japan, China and Korean, Europe and Scandinavia and United Kingdom, North and South America markets.

Group Farmstay
Group Farmstay is where groups of 10 or more persons stay on the one farm in regional or country Australia and is an ideal opportunity for common interest and student groups to experience and stay in an Australian rural country setting and enjoy comfortable country accommodation and great Australian meals and experience farm activities and farm life.

Group Farms are located throughout Australia in New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Some farmstay offer scheduled programs for student groups including meals and activities.

Farm activities which are available at most properties, vary  from property to property. Farmstay activities include horse riding, demonstrations of dog mustering of sheep and cattle,sheep shearing, hay rides, canoeing, whip cracking demonstrating, native animal night spotting, camp fires and feeding farm animals.

Many farmstay properties are working Australian farms where their main income is derived from farming.

Accommodation varies from twin and double rooms with private bathrooms through to multi share/bunk style in dormitories with shared bathrooms. Many farmstay properties have restaurants where wholesome Australian country meals are served.

Group Farmhost Program
A unique opportunity for students and education groups, study tour, special interest and agricultural professional to experience rural and outback Australia staying with farmers and their families in the family homestead. This program is popular with High School and University Groups as a unique and great opportunity to meet and stay with Australian families. Host farms are similar to Home stay with accommodation located in the country. Students have the opportunity to do farm activities or just relax and enjoy the great Australian country life. Activities such as star watching is great for students and adults alike.

The “Australian Farmhost Program” is available at areas (regions) located throughout Australia in New South Wales, Queensland, and Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia and Tasmania with over 300 specially selected host farms providing over 700 beds.

Details of the agriculture in each of the host area (region) are shown in this section. The Australian Farmhost areas (regions) consist of a number of host farms in the surrounding district.

All farms in the AFT “Australian Farmhost Program” are genuine working farms. Guests are housed with the host family and are allocated with hosts that may share their personal pursuits and interests.

– Guests are hosted two to four persons on genuine working farms and stay and enjoy meals in the family homestead with the host family
– Packages include accommodation and all meals (Dinner and Breakfast or Dinner and Breakfast and lunch.
– Transfers are provided by host farmers from/to the local farmhost collection or meeting point located in the centre of the town.

Agricultural Technical & Study
We cater to special and common interest groups, student and education groups. Agricultural and aquaculture technical inspections and tours supplying half day, full day and overnight programs across Australia. Study tours include general industry and agricultural industry inspections and visits. Groups visit working farm, general industry, health establishments, reviewing work practices, development and research and learning about how the Australia agricultural and general industry operates. Lectures and talks are sourced through government agencies including Dept of Primary Industry.
